The Application Process:

1. Applications can be downloaded by clicking the link on this page. Alternatively please contact the VLS and a copy can be sent to you via fax or e-mail. Please fill out the form in its entirety and submit it by mail, fax, or e-mail to the VLS Coordinator at the following:

   • Mail: 401-255 17 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2S 2T8.
2. Once your application is received it will be reviewed. If your application is accepted, The VLS will attempt to match your organization with a volunteer lawyer. Please note that it may take 6-10 weeks to complete the approval and match process.
3. Please note that our lawyers can only work on the specific tasks outlined in your application form. Once the work that they have been approved for is completed, the file is closed. Should your agency have another legal issue arise in the future, you will have to reapply for that new project.

*Organizations using the Volunteer Lawyers Service must:

Pay all of their volunteering lawyer's disbursements and out-of-pocket expenses (such as court and governmental filing fees, long distance telephone calls, postage, delivery and photocopying); pay disbursements promptly; or, risk losing the opportunity to receive further services.
